Last updated: 12 June 2026

OpenAF (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the OpenAF mobile application and website at https://openaf.co.za. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you use our app or website (together, the “Services”).

By using OpenAF, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Who we are

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated when you use the Services, and information from your device where permitted.

  • Payments and wallet: payment method selections, wallet balance, loyalty points, and transaction history
  • Pharmacy orders: prescription images or documents you upload
  • Communications: messages with stores, support, or delivery personnel through in-app chat
  • Support requests: information you send when contacting customer support
  • Guest use: if you use the app without registering, we may assign a temporary guest identifier to support ordering and cart functionality

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Location data: GPS and approximate location to determine delivery zones, show nearby stores, calculate delivery routes, and support order tracking
  • Device information: device type, operating system, app version, language settings, and unique device identifiers
  • Usage data: pages/screens viewed, searches, interactions with stores and products, and app performance data
  • Push notification token: used to send order updates, promotions, and service notifications
  • Log data: IP address, access times, and technical logs for security and troubleshooting

2.3 Information from device permissions

With your permission, the app may access:

  • Camera / photo library — to upload profile photos, prescription images, or order-related images
  • Microphone — for voice search features
  • Notifications — to send order and account alerts
  • Internet access — required for the app to function

You can manage many permissions in your device settings. Some features may not work if permissions are denied.

2.4 Social sign-in (if enabled)

If you choose to sign in with Google, Facebook, or Apple, we may receive basic profile information from that provider (such as name, email address, and profile identifier) according to your settings with that provider and what they allow us to receive.

You can also register and log in using email/phone and password without social sign-in.
